Jack Ward (cello) is a Sydney based cellist who maintains a full time performance career, working with the major performing arts organisations throughout Australia. He enjoys a versatile career performing regularly with the Australian and Melbourne Chamber Orchestras, the symphony and opera/ballet orchestras, alongside period and chamber music ensembles. He performs regularly at concert halls including The Sydney Opera House, Melbourne Recital Centre, Angel Place City Recital Hall, QPac, Adelaide Town Hall, Perth Concert Hall and Hamer Hall in various contexts, for example as a chamber musician through Musica Viva and as a member of Melbourne based Penny Quartet. Recent festival appearances include Sydney, Melbourne/Rising, Vivid, Adelaide, Woodford, Perth and Canberra International Festivals, as a collaborative artist and soloist. Along side his classical practice Jack records, performs and tours with international artists including Missy Higgins, Lauren Hill, Teeks, Archie Roach, LilNasX, Wu-Tang Clan, at major commercial venues and recording studios throughout Australia. Jack currently lectures Collaborative Music and cello at the Australian Institute of Music.
